prompts for august 2026
What made you happy this month?
Sometimes happiness isn’t one big event.
This month, it has been found in family, friends, writing and music. 💜
Time with the people I love. Conversations that made me laugh. Friends who were there when I needed them, and those wonderfully silly moments that can completely change the mood of a day.
Writing has continued to give me somewhere to put everything — thoughts, memories, humour, sadness, imagination and the occasional spectacular misunderstanding of an English idiom. 🤣 Yes, I’m still thinking about that hill.
And then there is music.
Writing it, creating it, experimenting with sound and simply listening to it. Music has always had a way of meeting me wherever I am emotionally.
August hasn’t been without sadness. Some days have been incredibly emotional. But perhaps that makes me notice the happy moments even more.
Happiness doesn’t mean everything around us has to be perfect.
Sometimes it’s simply recognising the little lights scattered among the heavier days.
This month, mine were family, friends, words and music.
And I’m grateful for every one of them. 💜

My new song “Silenced, but not broken” is now avaliable on all streaming platforms. 💜
