About me

About me — Maggie | The Afterlove Voice 💜

Hello, and welcome to my little corner of the internet.

I’m Maggie — writer, lyricist, astrologer, intuitive, dreamer, and the voice behind The Afterlove Voice.

For me, writing has never simply been about putting words on a page. It has always been a way of understanding life.

The Writer Who Came Back

I wrote a lot of poetry when I was a teenager. It was my private sanctuary — somewhere I could put the emotions and thoughts I didn’t always know how to say aloud.

Then life happened.

Education. Work. Marriage(s). Children. Moving countries. Raising a family. All the ordinary and extraordinary chapters that fill the years.

I never completely stopped writing. For many years, Facebook became the place where I shared thoughts and little pieces of myself.

Then, in August 2025, I started this blog.

I didn’t know then quite what it would become.

A year later, I think I’ve found my rhythm.

What You’ll Find Here

This blog is a mixture — because so am I.

You’ll find poetry, short stories, personal reflections, writing challenges, astrology, angel numbers, spirituality, synchronicities, music, memories, humour, and the occasional wander into the unexplained.

I especially love writing challenges.

Communities such as dVerse have encouraged me to experiment with poetic forms I might never have tried otherwise. Other wonderful blogging prompts have taken one little word or question and somehow opened doors to memories, stories, laughter, and sometimes tears.

That’s one of the things I’ve come to love most about blogging:

You never quite know where a prompt will take you.

Astrology, Spirituality & the Unseen

Astrology has been part of my life for many years. I studied classical, esoteric, and medical astrology, and my spiritual journey has included tarot, healing, intuition, mediumship, dreams, and the strange synchronicities that sometimes appear when we need them most.

I don’t believe we have to understand everything for it to have meaning.

Sometimes we simply have to notice.

So you’ll find plenty of stars, planets, angel numbers, feathers, owls, signs, and questions about the mysteries of life scattered throughout these pages.

The Afterlove Voice 🎶

Over time, another part of my creativity found its voice: music.

I began turning my words and lyrics into songs, and The Afterlove Voice became more than a name. It became a way of describing what I do — writing about love, loss, memory, connection, spirituality, and the things that remain with us.

In July 2026, I released my album Beneath The Northern Stars, inspired by Nordic folklore and The Legend of the Ice People.

For someone who once kept her poems mostly to herself, seeing my words become songs has been quite a journey.

Writing With Purpose

Not everything I write is light.

Sometimes writing means speaking when staying silent doesn’t feel right.

I write about justice, grief, truth, and the people whose stories deserve to be remembered. Those pieces often come from a much deeper place, but they are as much a part of my voice as the poetry, humour, and spiritual posts.

I believe words can comfort.

Words can challenge.

Words can remember.

And sometimes words can become a voice when another voice has been silenced.

Behind the Words

Away from the keyboard, I’m happiest with my family, animals, music, books, coffee, and nature.

I have lived in the Canary Islands since 2011, where the volcanic landscape, ocean, enormous skies, and endless stars have become part of my world.

I’m much more comfortable somewhere quiet beneath a night sky than in the middle of a crowded city.

Give me coffee, music, animals, a notebook, and a sky full of stars, and I’m quite content.

One Year Later…

When I started blogging, I thought I was simply creating somewhere to write.

Instead, I found a community.

I’ve met wonderful writers, discovered new forms of poetry, laughed over ridiculous prompts, cried while writing others, and learned that inspiration can come from almost anywhere.

Most importantly, I found my voice again.

Or perhaps I discovered that it had never really gone anywhere.

It was simply waiting for me to listen.

So whether you arrived here through poetry, astrology, spirituality, music, a writing challenge, or by following some strange little internet rabbit hole…

Welcome.

Pull up a chair.

The coffee is probably already brewing.

Maggie
