What’s a chapter of your life you’d title “The Hard Years” — and what got you through it?
If I had to give one chapter of my life that title, it would begin in June 2023.
That was when my husband’s accident changed our lives forever.
In an instant, everything we had taken for granted became uncertain. Hospital stays, surgeries, rehabilitation, dialysis, and learning to navigate a completely different reality became part of our everyday life.
We’re still living that chapter.
Some days are easier than others, but it’s a journey we’re continuing together.
Through it all, one thing has kept me going:
Music.
Music has been my refuge, my therapy, and my way of expressing emotions that are sometimes too difficult to put into words.
Then, last year, something unexpected happened.
I started this blog.
I allowed my creativity to blossom again. I began writing more, creating poetry, sharing stories, releasing my music, and connecting with people from all over the world.
What began as a creative outlet became a lifeline.
It reminded me that even in the hardest seasons, we can still create something beautiful.
Life may have rewritten our plans, but it didn’t take away my voice.
If anything, it helped me find it again.
The hard years aren’t over yet, but neither is my story. As long as I can create, hope will always have a place to grow.
