Lily
The lily does not rush.
It opens when it is ready—
petal by petal,
without apology
for its timing.
White is often mistaken
for fragility.
But the lily grows from mud,
from dark water,
from what others would avoid.
There is strength
in rising clean
from complicated roots.
I have learned
that purity is not innocence—
it is resilience.
It is choosing to bloom
despite what you have known.
The lily does not explain itself.
It simply stands
and opens.
