Public is what is seen.

It is the smile offered,
the statement released,
the polished version
ready for viewing.

But not everything meant for the public
belongs to it

Some things are tender.
Some things are sacred.
Some things grow best
away from noise.

I have learned
that living publicly
does not require
giving everything away.

There is strength
in choosing what to share
and what to keep
quietly
your own.
