This is a shout out to my friend Michael Perry at https://myartcigars.art

Lounge
I have never been inside a cigar lounge, but I imagine it as a pause in the world.
Not a place of hurry, but of leaning back into conversation, smoke curling like thought made visible.
When Michael writes about cigar lounges, I don’t hear indulgence — I hear intention.
A space where art is not rushed, where words are savored the way a note lingers after music stops.
His vision of blending cigars and art feels less about the cigar, and more about permission.
Permission to sit with an idea, to stay with a feeling, to let creation breathe.
Perhaps a lounge is not furniture or leather chairs or dim light.
Perhaps it is a shared silence that feels welcome.
I don’t know this world, but I want to see it through his eyes.
To experience the way art might unfold when nothing is demanded of it.
And maybe that is my epiphany.
A lounge is not a place you enter — it’s a state you allow.
