September — Day 22
Do you think that ignorance is bliss?
Sometimes, yes. There are things I wish I hadn’t seen or learned, and I can understand why someone might prefer not to know. Once you know something, you can’t always put it out of your mind.
But I wouldn’t choose ignorance over understanding. I’m naturally curious, and if something doesn’t make sense to me, I want to look into it. I’d rather know the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable, than feel peaceful because I’ve avoided it.
That said, there’s a difference between being informed and being overwhelmed. I don’t need to read every headline, follow every argument or carry every problem in the world on my shoulders.
So perhaps ignorance can bring a little temporary bliss. But for me, lasting peace comes from understanding what I can, accepting what I can’t know, and knowing when to put the phone down and make a coffee. ☕💜
