The Rose That Rose
She planted a rose in the darkest of ground,
Where sorrow lay silent, without a sound.
Its thorns held the stories she never told,
Its roots reached deep through the bitter cold.
Through storms that threatened to tear it apart,
The rose kept growing, much like her heart.
And when the morning embraced the skies,
She watched its petals begin to rise.
Not every wound needs a reason to heal,
Not every scar is a sorrow we feel.
For even in darkness, a rose can grow,
And bloom in places where few dare go.
She touched its petals, then softly smiled,
Remembering the dreams of her younger child.
And there, where the shadows had once held sway,
A rose rose up to greet the day.
