23 months.
Almost two years.
I thought perhaps by now the dates would become a little easier.
That seeing the 16th approaching on the calendar wouldn’t carry quite the same weight.
But somehow, this year feels heavier.
Maybe it is because we’ve already crossed another birthday without you.
Another August filled with photographs, songs, memories and people gathering across the world to celebrate the life you lived.
I watched Wolverhampton remember you.
I watched Argentina remember you outside the place where you died.
And perhaps that is part of why my heart feels so heavy now.
Because twenty-three months is such a long time to miss someone.
And such a long time to still have questions.
The world has continued turning since October 2024. Seasons have changed. Birthdays have passed. Songs have been written. Candles have been lit. Flowers have faded and been replaced by new ones.
But love hasn’t disappeared with them.
Neither has the need for answers.
Sometimes people speak about time as though it automatically heals everything. I don’t think it works that way. Sometimes time simply teaches us how to carry what cannot be changed.
And some months, for reasons we cannot explain, that weight feels heavier again.
This is one of those months.
So today I won’t pretend that twenty-three months has made it easier.
I will simply remember you.
The young man who laughed until his eyes disappeared.
The artist who gave so much of himself through music.
The son. The brother. The father. The friend.
The person behind every headline and every photograph.
Liam.
You mattered then.
You matter now.
And as we approach two years, I still believe that remembering you also means continuing to ask the questions that remain unanswered—carefully, respectfully, and without allowing your humanity to become lost among rumours and headlines.
Twenty-three months later, we’re still here.
Still remembering.
Still listening.
Still asking.
Still carrying your light.
And perhaps that’s what love does.
It stays. 💜🥀

23 months without you.
Forever remembered.
