September — Day 7
Tell me where you’re from without telling me where you’re from.
Well, that’s complicated.
I was born in a country where people drink tea, drive on the left and can discuss the weather for an impressive amount of time.
Then, when I was five, I moved to a country of mountains, fjords, long summer evenings and winters where the sun occasionally seems to forget its responsibilities.
That’s where I grew up.
Then, fifteen years ago, I packed up my life again and moved south.
Now I live on an island shaped by volcanoes, surrounded by the Atlantic, where goats probably outnumber sensible drivers, the wind has a personality of its own, and calima occasionally arrives carrying half the Sahara with it.
