M Is for Maddie
This photo takes me back fifteen years, when we moved to the Canary Islands.
My daughters were four and five — our little “Irish twins.” They wanted the same toys, clothes, even the same colours, and loved playing the twin part.
Until something got mixed up.
Then they fought like angry cats. 😂
My mum-brain solution? Find a waterproof pen and label everything: M for Maddie, A for Alex.
Problem solved.
Or so I thought.
Their last Christmas in Norway, they received identical toy computers. One day Maddie turned hers over and spotted an M.
Then she checked Alex’s.
Another M.
Outrage! Alex clearly had Maddie’s computer.
I tried explaining that this particular M belonged to the words MADE IN CHINA.
Maddie wasn’t buying it.
I had taught her the rule:
M means Maddie.
Apparently, China hadn’t received the memo. 😂😂😂
