Well… apparently I have discovered a brand-new way to break a finger. 😂😂

Forget falling down the stairs.

Forget trapping it in a door.

Forget sports injuries.

Forget having a car accident.

I broke my pinky finger on the gear shift in my car. 🤣🤣🤣

Yes.

The gear shift.

And before anyone asks — no, I wasn’t in an accident. Nothing dramatic happened to the car.

It was simply Maggie versus the gear shift.

Gear shift: 1
Pinky: 0

😂😂😂

I knew immediately that something wasn’t quite right, mainly because my poor pinky had apparently decided it no longer wanted to point in the same direction as the rest of my fingers.

It was pointing in a completely ridiculous direction. 🫣🤣

So, off we went to get it checked and X-rayed.

My daughter Alex was with me and translating at the doctor’s office.

Now imagine having to translate this conversation with a straight face:

“How did you break your finger?”

Alex: “She broke it on the gear shift in the car.”

I can only imagine what was going through the doctor’s mind. 😂

Alex, however, wasn’t surprised.

Her verdict?

“Only you can break a finger that way.”

Thanks, daughter. 🤣

And yes, the X-ray confirmed it. The little pinky really is broken.

Which unfortunately means I won’t be playing the piano for a few days. 🎹😭

Although ChatGPT has already decided that when I return, my first performance should be:

And judging by Alex’s reaction, I have a feeling I’m going to be hearing about this one for the rest of my life. 🤣
