Simply 6 Minutes – Welcome to the Challenge: 08/25/2026
This picture takes me straight back to childhood.
We used to play hide and seek in the barn, climbing upstairs into the hayloft and disappearing between the bales. There were so many wonderful hiding places up there that finding everyone could take forever.
And, of course, simply climbing down again would have been far too sensible.
We jumped.
Looking back now, I sometimes wonder how we survived childhood with all our bones intact. 😂
But one particular day became memorable for another reason.
It was the day we discovered my brother was allergic to hay.
There we were, happily running, hiding and throwing ourselves around the hayloft while the poor boy became more and more affected by the very thing surrounding us.
Not exactly the childhood discovery anyone had planned for!
Still, when I look at this picture, I remember the laughter first — dusty clothes, hay everywhere, secret hiding places and those carefree days when a barn could become an entire world of adventure.
Although after that particular adventure, I suspect my brother would have preferred somewhere with considerably less hay. 🤧😂
