For dVerse Poets Pub where Lisa is our host.
Today’s topic :
Your challenge for today, if you choose to accept it, is to choose have your way with the weather. Use it as a framework. Or a metaphor. Or as a vehicle to get you where your muse wants to go. Any form or length is fine. I would love to see someone take a favorite weather song and pay tribute to its lyrics or melody. Please put attribution on your page if you choose that path. I’m very much looking forward to reading your poems.
dVerse Poetics — Have You Ever Seen the Rain?

Astrological Weather Forecast
Tomorrow's forecast:
a temporary darkness, with a chance of revelation.
The Sun wears Leo,
but even fire must sometimes meet its shadow.
No umbrella will help.
No shelter is required.
This weather moves through different skies—
the heavens above,
the hidden ones within.
Expect old emotions to gather like clouds,
truth to arrive without thunder, and something forgotten to demand its light.
For a moment,
the Moon will stand between us and the Sun,
and day will remember what darkness feels like.
But eclipses pass.
Light returns.
Perhaps that is why we keep looking upward—
to remember that even a total eclipse is never the end of the Sun.
Inspired by the astrological weather of the August 12, 2026 solar eclipse and Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”
