Travel
Travel.
Where are we going?
I don’t know, just get in the car. 😂
I think that might actually describe me quite well.
I’ve never really been someone with a huge list of places I must visit. Yes, there are places I’ve dreamed about. Egypt fascinated me when I was young. Peru too. Places filled with history, mystery and stories buried beneath our feet.
But I think I love the journey more than the destination.
Give me a road I’ve never driven before and suddenly I’m wondering what’s around the next corner.
Although, preferably not a narrow mountain road with a cliff on one side. Then you can drive. 😂
Travel doesn’t even have to mean crossing countries.
Sometimes it’s getting in the car and discovering somewhere new on the island you’ve lived on for years.
Sometimes it’s looking up at the stars and travelling without moving at all.
Books do that.
Music definitely does that.
One song and suddenly I’m seventeen again.
Another and I’m somewhere I’ve never actually been.
Maybe that’s why I’ve always loved stories so much. They let us travel through places, lives and even centuries without packing a suitcase.
And life itself is travel, isn’t it?
We spend so much time thinking about where we’re going that sometimes we forget to look out of the window.
I’ve travelled farther than the younger version of me could ever have imagined.
Not only in miles.
In life.
And I still don’t know exactly where I’m going.
But maybe that’s the best part.
Just get in.
We’ll figure it out along the way. 💜
