8/8 — The Lion’s Gate Portal 🦁♾️✨

There are dates that simply pass on the calendar.

And then there are dates that seem to carry an energy of their own.

Today is 8/8 — the Lion’s Gate Portal.

Every year, during Leo season, the Lion’s Gate is spoken of as a time of heightened spiritual energy, transformation, courage and manifestation. Its symbolism is connected with the Sun in Leo, the star Sirius, and the ancient significance humans have placed upon the heavens.

But perhaps what fascinates me most is the number itself.

8.

Turn it sideways and it becomes infinity.

No beginning.

No ending.

A continuous flow.

And on 8/8, we have that energy doubled.

8:8.

For me, Lion’s Gate isn’t about sitting down with a shopping list for the Universe and asking for everything I want.

It is much deeper than that.

It is a doorway of intention.

A moment to ask:

What am I ready to leave behind?

What am I ready to become?

Where have I made myself smaller because someone else was uncomfortable with my light?

And perhaps the most important question:

Am I ready to walk through the door?

Because doors are funny things.

We can receive all the signs in the world.

We can ask our guides for direction.

We can meditate, pull cards, watch the stars and notice synchronicities appearing around us.

But eventually, we have to move our own feet.

The Lion Reminds Us of Courage

Leo is ruled by the Sun — the centre of our solar system, the light around which everything moves.

The lion doesn’t ask permission to roar.

And maybe neither should we.

There was a time when I worried about letting my voice be heard.

Not anymore.

Life has taught me that silence does not always keep the peace. Sometimes silence simply gives other people permission to tell your story for you.

I would rather tell my own.

I would rather stand in my truth.

Even when my voice shakes.

Even when the road ahead isn’t completely visible.

Even when I don’t know where the doorway leads.

♾️ The Infinite Thread

There is another reason the infinity symbol means so much to me.

Love doesn’t always behave according to the rules we humans try to give it.

Neither does connection.

Some bonds stretch across years, countries and circumstances.

Some remain when everything else changes.

Some seem to exist beyond the boundaries we understand.

Perhaps that is why infinity feels so appropriate today.

Not because everything lasts in the same form forever.

It doesn’t.

But because energy changes.

Love changes shape.

We change.

And still, something continues.

My 8/8 Intention

So today I am not asking the Universe for perfection.

I am asking for courage.

Courage to continue using my voice.

Courage to trust my intuition.

Courage to create.

Courage to release what no longer belongs with me.

Courage to walk toward whatever comes next without shrinking myself to fit into someone else’s expectations.

I welcome clarity.

I welcome truth.

I welcome creativity.

I welcome the people and opportunities meant to meet me on the road ahead.

And whatever isn’t meant for me?

I release it.

No chasing.

No forcing.

No begging closed doors to open.

There are other doors.

Perhaps that is the real magic of a portal.

It doesn’t promise that everything on the other side will be easy.

It simply asks whether you’re brave enough to cross the threshold.

Today, on 8/8, my answer is:

Yes.

I walk forward with courage.
I speak with my own voice.
I trust the path unfolding before me.
And I carry love with me — 
beyond time, beyond distance, beyond endings.
