The Sheriff of Whisker Creek
Everyone laughed the first time they saw him.
A fluffy Himalayan cat wearing a cowboy hat looked more suited to afternoon naps than frontier justice.
But laughter didn’t last long.
By sunrise, he had already chased a fox away from the henhouse, settled an argument between two squirrels over the last acorn, and convinced three stray kittens that sharing a bowl of milk was better than fighting over it.
He never carried a badge.
He didn’t need one.
The hat was enough.
It reminded everyone that courage doesn’t always come in the biggest package.
Sometimes it arrives with soft paws, bright blue eyes, and whiskers that twitch before every important decision.
Each evening, the Sheriff of Whisker Creek sat on the porch, watching the sun disappear beyond the hills.
The ranch was peaceful.
The birds sang.
The mice behaved… mostly.
Another day without trouble.
He gave a satisfied purr, tipped his hat toward the fading light, and closed his eyes.
Tomorrow would bring new adventures.
But tonight…
Even sheriffs deserve a nap.
