Day 5 – What memory deserves a sequel?

If one memory deserves a sequel, it’s the day my three children and I finally left my abusive ex-husband.

That day wasn’t the end of my story—it was the beginning of a new one.

There were difficult years, but there was also healing. Slowly, I found pieces of myself I thought I’d lost. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, I discovered that surviving wasn’t enough; I wanted to truly live again.

The greatest sequel to that memory was opening my heart once more. It led me to the man who is now my husband, and together we’ve shared many wonderful years. We also welcomed two beautiful daughters into our lives, completing a new chapter I never thought possible.

Looking back, I’m incredibly proud of the courage it took to leave. Sometimes the bravest decision we ever make is simply to believe that a better chapter is waiting to be written.

Life gave me a second chance, and for that, I will always be grateful. 💜🦋
