The fence had stood between the neighbours for thirty years.
It had survived arguments, long silences, and seasons when neither side spoke a single word.
Then one spring morning, a single red geranium found a gap between the weathered boards.
Neither family had planted it there.
The other quietly did the same from the other.
By summer’s end, they were talking over the fence.
Sometimes peace doesn’t arrive with speeches.
Sometimes…
it blooms through the smallest crack.
