After being jilted by one too many walking red flags, she had developed a sixth sense for nonsense.

Then came Steve.

Steve seemed charming.

Steve said all the right things.

Steve also referred to himself as an “alpha male.”

Ah.

A jerk in the wild.

Jenny smiled politely, finished her coffee, and left him with the bill—

considering it compensation for emotional inconvenience.
