Daily life

What a Day…

Fifth punctured tyre in twelve months.

At this point, I’m beginning to believe the roads of Fuerteventura have declared war on tyres.

Today’s wheel didn’t just puncture — it completely exploded.

Rubber torn open. Flattened against the road. No saving it.

And the best part?

The rental cars don’t even have a spare tyre.

So there I was, standing beside the road for several hours, sun blazing, dust everywhere, waiting for the grúa to arrive.

Hours…

because modern rental cars apparently travel volcanic island roads without the one thing most needed here.

Sometimes island life is ocean views and golden light.

Sometimes it is sitting beside a destroyed tyre, questioning every life choice while the heat melts your patience 😒

Still… you breathe, you survive it, and eventually you keep moving again.

But honestly?

Five punctures in one year is becoming absurd.‼️

That puncture of the tyre is definitely so devastating, Maggie.
