Daily Prompt — 1882

What is one word that describes you?

If I had to choose just one word to describe myself, it would probably be:

Empathetic.

It’s something others have told me many times.

That I listen.
That I understand.
That I can feel what others are going through, even when they don’t say it out loud.

Some have even asked me, “Why aren’t you a psychologist?”

And I usually laugh and say,
“Because that’s too many years in school!” 😄

But the truth goes a little deeper than that.

It’s not just about the years of studying.

It’s also about who I am.

I’ve always been someone who walks my own path.
I’m independent by nature, and being tied too tightly to strict rules or systems has never really suited me for long.

I prefer freedom.
To feel, to observe, to understand in my own way.

And maybe that’s where my empathy comes from.

Not from textbooks.
But from life.
From experiences.
From everything I’ve been through and everything I continue to learn.

So yes… if I had to choose one word:

Empathetic.

Not because I try to be —
but because it’s simply who I am.
