In response to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge:

Identify
Such a simple word, yet one that holds many layers.
To identify something is to recognize it, to understand what it truly is.
But sometimes the hardest thing to identify is ourselves.
Who we are beneath the roles we carry.
Mother.
Wife.
Caregiver.
Writer.
Dreamer.
Over time we collect many identities, like pages in a book. Some were given to us by others, some we chose, and some appeared simply because life placed them in our path.
Yet there comes a moment in life when we pause and look deeper.
Not at the titles.
Not at the expectations.
But at the quiet soul behind them all.
That moment of recognition can be powerful.
To identify who we truly are is not about ego or status. It is about understanding the journey that shaped us.
The storms we survived.
The love we carried.
The dreams that still whisper inside us.
Perhaps identifying ourselves is something we never finish doing.
It is a lifelong discovery.
A mirror we keep returning to, each time seeing a little more clearly the person looking back.
