In response to Sadje’s Sunday Poser:

I would say my sense of humor is layered.
On the surface, I can be easily amused — I love wordplay, irony, and those little everyday absurdities that make life lighter. Sometimes it’s a look, a timing, or a simple sentence that makes me laugh.
But I also have a quiet, observant humor. The kind that sees the bigger picture and smiles softly at it. I don’t always laugh loudly — sometimes I just feel the humor in a situation.
I’m not drawn to cruel or belittling jokes. If humor hurts someone intentionally, it stops being funny for me. I prefer warmth, wit, and cleverness over sarcasm that cuts.
And yes… sometimes I overanalyze a joke. Writer’s mind. I might pause and think about the layers before I laugh — hopefully not killing it in the process!
Humor, to me, is relief. It’s perspective. It’s a reminder not to take ourselves too seriously — even when life itself is serious.
