Today’s word is exile.

Exile
Exile once meant banishment.
Removal.
Being sent away from what you rule
or love.
There are days I imagine
an island far from microphones,
far from speeches and posturing,
where certain leaders might sit
with only sand and silence.
No audience.
No applause.
No one to blame.
Just the wind.
Just the tide.
Just the long echo of their own decisions.
Perhaps exile is not about punishment.
Perhaps it is about distance—
about learning what happens
when power no longer performs.
And perhaps the world,
left quieter for a while,
could breathe.
