The Light Remembers
The corridor does not hurry.
Stone has learned patience
from centuries of passing feet
and prayers that never needed names.
Arches repeat like breath—
inhale, exhale—
each one holding the last
and preparing for the next.
Light arrives quietly,
threading itself through iron lattice,
laying its patterned truth
across the floor.
Even shadows are disciplined here.
Nothing speaks,
yet everything listens.
This place remembers hands on walls,
voices softened by reverence,
silence chosen—not imposed.
What I see
is time learning how to kneel,
and light learning how to stay
just long enough
to show us
where we are.
