Crush is what happens
when reality lands
without asking permission.

Not the dramatic kind.
Not the romantic kind.
The quiet, internal pressure
that changes how you breathe
for a moment.

I was crushed by news,
not because I am weak,
but because bodies are not machines
and fairness is not guaranteed.

Crush is the instant you realise
something must change—
not because you failed,
but because life shifted its weight.

I won’t romanticise it.
I won’t rage endlessly either.

I acknowledge the force,
adjust my footing,
and remain standing.

Some things try to crush you
into silence.
Others compress you
into something stronger.

I decide which this will be.
