Crimson Creative Challenge #064

High in the bare branches, it lives without roots of its own.
A green heart beating through winter air.
It does not ask permission.
It takes, but it also gives — shelter, berries, a reason for birds to return.
Survival is never simple.
From below, it looks like love.
From closer up, it is need, tangled with grace.
The tree carries it in silence,
holding both the weight and the beauty of what depends on it.
Perhaps this is how some hearts survive —
by entwining,
by borrowing strength,
by blooming where they were never meant to grow.
Not all growth rises from the ground.
Some grows from endurance.
Some from longing.
Some from staying.
