There are moments in life that feel small in real time
There are moments in life that feel small in real time—
a notification,
a single release,
a new song dropping at midnight—
but later you realize
that was the exact moment
everything shifted.
For me, that moment was Teardrops.
But to understand why,
I need to go back.
The Beginning: X Factor, One Direction & A House Full of Music
I didn’t find Liam’s voice late.
I found it early.
Or rather—
it found me through my children.
When One Direction formed on the X Factor,
my oldest daughter — now 29 —
became a Directioner
with the full force only teenagers can give.
Their music played in our home constantly:
– blasting through speakers
– echoing in car rides
– filling birthdays
– dancing through the edges of everyday life
Liam’s voice was always the one I noticed.
Warm.
Steady.
Emotional in a way he didn’t always allow himself to be in words.
But life moved on.
The Canary Islands called us.
Gran Canaria first.
Then Fuerteventura.
A whole new destiny unfolding
under a sun I didn’t yet understand.

March 2024 — Teardrops Arrives
I remember the wait.
Fans were excited.
He was excited.
He posted about LP2 with pride,
with hope,
with that spark in his eyes
that said:
“More music is coming.”
But the world doesn’t always deliver
the future it promises.
We never got LP2.
We only received Teardrops.
But sometimes
one song is enough
to reroute a life.
When I heard it,
I didn’t just listen.
I felt.
Every lyric was coded
in a language my soul recognized.
“I don’t know how to love you when I am broken too…”
It wasn’t just a line.
It was a mirror.
The exhaustion from caregiving.
The grief.
The constant holding-everything-together
while falling apart inside.
I felt seen.
As if the song had been written
for the exact emotional frequency
I was living in at that moment.
Teardrops wasn’t just a song.
It was the final key.
The moment the contract activated fully.
The moment the universe whispered:
“Are you listening now?”
And I was.

The Ravens & The Return
Today, as I drove to run errands,
two ravens lifted in front of my car—
slow, deliberate,
black wings opening against the pale morning sky.
My spirit guides.
Always appearing at thresholds.
Always when chapters end
and new ones begin.
It struck me, suddenly:
Next year marks 15 years
since we moved to the Canary Islands.
Fifteen years of:
– mountains
– ancestors
– sacred landscapes
– Fataga
– Tindaya
– ravens
– healing
– loss
– awakening
– destiny
and the slow weaving of a path
I didn’t understand until last year.
I left the cold, rainy west coast of Norway—
not knowing the islands held pieces of my past
and pieces of my future.
I didn’t know the ancestors of these lands
would call to me.
Or that ravens would become my guides.
Or that a boy from Wolverhampton
would someday become a soul-compass
shifting the direction of my life.
What a journey.
What a map the universe drew
long before I learned how to read it.
Closing the Series — Opening the Path
This chapter ends the series,
but not the story.
Because Teardrops didn’t just open a door—
it opened me.
It made me remember
My voice,
gifts,
truth,
and purpose.
It reminded me that even in grief,
you are guided.
Even in hardship,
you are aligned.
Even in darkness,
you are watched over.
As the tattoo Liam had on his chest
” Where dark meets light “
