Daily prompt–2111

Invent a holiday! Explain how and why everyone should celebrate.

If I could invent a holiday,
I would call it:

🌈 Inner Child Day

A day just for us grown-ups to be children again.
No alcohol.
No drugs.
No pressure to perform or pretend.

Just the authentic self —
curious, silly, creative, free.

We spend so much of our lives learning how to be “adults”
that we forget who we were before the world told us who to be.
But our inner child never disappears —
they just wait quietly,
hoping we’ll remember them.

On Inner Child Day, everyone would:
• Build forts out of blankets
• Paint with their hands
• Blow bubbles
• Sing loudly
• Dance barefoot in the grass
•Laugh until their stomach hurts      • swimming and water fights •Games we used to play                  •Ice cream, lots of ice cream

No judgment.
No shame.
No “act your age.”

Just joy.

It would be celebrated in the summertime, of course —
because childhood feels like sunshine on bare skin
and ice cream running down your fingers.

And why should everyone celebrate?
Because healing often begins by remembering
who we were before the world told us we had to be someone else.

💫 Returning to our inner child is not regression —
it’s reunion.
