Today’s three words:
STERN • STREAM • STREET

The Street Inspector 🐈😂
Every morning, Mr. Henderson walked down the same street.
He was a stern gentleman who believed in three things:
Punctuality.
Proper behaviour.
And absolutely NO animals in his garden.
Unfortunately, the neighbourhood cat had other ideas.
Every morning, the cat appeared at exactly eight o’clock, jumped onto his garden wall and stared at him.
“Shoo!”
The cat blinked.
“GO AWAY!”
The cat yawned.
One morning, Mr. Henderson decided to take a different route, following the little stream behind the houses.
Finally, some peace.
He sat on a bench, opened his newspaper and took a deep breath.
Then he heard it.
“Meow.”
He lowered the newspaper.
There sat the cat.
On the bench.
Beside him.
“How did you find me?”
The cat offered no explanation.
Instead, it climbed onto his lap, turned around three times and settled down.
Mr. Henderson stared at it.
“This is highly irregular.”
The cat purred.
He looked around to make sure nobody was watching.
Then, very carefully, he scratched behind its ears.
“Well,” he muttered, “I suppose you may stay for five minutes.”
An hour later, the newspaper remained unread.
And the neighbourhood’s sternest gentleman was explaining to a cat why the council really ought to repair the pavement.
The cat had finally found someone who appreciated a good complaint. 😂🐈💜
