Missy’s MAD Challenge # 103
The Feather
“Pay attention,” she said.
“The universe sends signs.”
I smiled politely.
Not because I didn’t believe her.
Because I didn’t think it would ever happen to me.
Life carried on as usual until one ordinary afternoon.
No thunder.
No music.
Just silence.
As I walked through the park, a single white feather drifted from a cloudless sky and landed softly in my hand.
There wasn’t a bird above me.
I looked around.
Nothing.
Then my phone buzzed.
11:11.
A breeze stirred the trees, and somewhere nearby an owl called in broad daylight.
I laughed nervously.
“Okay,” I whispered. “I noticed.”
The wind answered by carrying another feather to my feet.
That was the moment I realised the universe wasn’t trying to impress me.
It was trying to wake me.
Sometimes a sign isn’t meant to prove that magic exists.
Sometimes it’s simply there to remind us…
that we are never walking through life alone.
