LOAF • LICHEN • LIP
I had every intention of being productive today.
Then I saw a fresh loaf of bread.
That was the beginning of the end.
A slice became two,the butter came out,and suddenly my plans had been postponed in favour of lunch.
Outside, lichen clung quietly to the old stones, completely unbothered by deadlines, lists, or human expectations.
Honestly, I admired it.
It simply existed.
No rush.
No guilt.
No pretending to be busy.
So I took another bite, wiped a crumb from my lip, and decided that perhaps rest is productive too.
Some days are for achieving things.
Other days are for bread, stillness, and minding your own business like lichen on a wall.
