Great Minds Think – The Object Speaks Challenge

I Am the Feather
People think I am small.
They pick me up, turn me over in their hands, admire my delicate pattern, and wonder which bird left me behind.
They rarely ask why I appeared when I did.
I have rested on mountain paths, drifted across oceans, and danced on invisible currents long before your eyes found me.
Sometimes I land on a doorstep.
Sometimes beside a gravestone.
Sometimes on the bonnet of a car just as someone whispers, “I need a sign.”
You call it coincidence.
I call it perfect timing.
I have watched children laugh before they learned fear.
I have watched lovers promise forever.
I have watched tears fall onto folded hands.
Humans believe they are alone far more often than they truly are.
If only you knew how often the unseen walks beside you.
I do not erase grief.
I cannot change yesterday.
I cannot promise tomorrow.
But I can remind you to look up.
To notice.
To breathe.
To remember that love leaves traces in the smallest things.
You search for miracles in thunder and lightning.
Yet sometimes they arrive as something so light the wind can carry them.
When you find me, don’t ask whether I came from heaven.
Ask yourself why your heart became quiet the moment you saw me.
That is where the answer lives.
After all…
But perhaps I was never just a feather.
This Week’s Challenge
Choose an object and tell its story from its point of view.
Let the object be your narrator. What does it see?
What does it feel? What does it wish humans understood?
Most importantly, what does it have to say?
With love, coffee, poetry, and stardust,
