In response to Jim’s prompt: https://jimadamsauthordotcom.wordpress.com/2026/04/04/april-music-birthdays/
This week’s theme is to choose an artist born in April.
Having teenagers at home means I’m often introduced to music I might not have discovered on my own. And sometimes, I’m pleasantly surprised — not just by the sound, but by how much I genuinely enjoy it.
This time, my choice comes from that shared musical space.
I chose Jay (ENHYPEN), whose full name is Jay Jongseong Park, born on April 20, 2002 in Seattle, USA. He is a member of the group ENHYPEN, formed in 2020.
The song I’ve chosen is Moonstruck.
There’s something about this song that feels atmospheric and almost dreamlike. The title itself — Moonstruck — suggests being completely captivated, pulled into a feeling you can’t quite explain.
It carries that sense of intensity that comes with youth — emotions that feel bigger, deeper, and sometimes overwhelming. But at the same time, there’s a softness to it. A kind of vulnerability that makes it relatable across ages.
Listening to songs like this reminds me how music evolves, yet the core emotions stay the same. Love, longing, wonder — those don’t belong to any one generation.
And maybe that’s one of the most beautiful things about having teenagers:you don’t just guide them — sometimes, they guide you too.
