Song about modes of transport.

My choice is “Crazy Train” by Ozzy Osbourne.
Released in 1980 on Ozzy’s debut solo album Blizzard of Ozz, Crazy Train marked a new chapter after his departure from Black Sabbath. While Ozzy will forever be linked to Sabbath, this song firmly established him as a powerful solo artist. The song was written by Ozzy Osbourne, Randy Rhoads, and Bob Daisley, and features one of the most iconic guitar riffs in rock history.
Although Crazy Train wasn’t an immediate chart-topper, it became a lasting anthem, growing in popularity over time and cementing its place in rock culture. The “train” in the title works on two levels — it’s a literal mode of transport, but also a metaphor for a world hurtling forward without brakes.
Lyrically, the song reflects Cold War anxiety, media manipulation, and the feeling of being swept along by forces beyond our control. The “crazy train” isn’t just Ozzy — it’s society itself. We’re all passengers, whether we want to be or not.
What I love about Crazy Train is that beneath the heavy sound and dark energy, there’s a message that still feels painfully relevant:
mental wounds that don’t heal, inherited conflict, and the hope that maybe — just maybe — it’s not too late to learn how to love and forget how to hate.
