Three Words, Three Songs, a Lifetime of Music 🎶

It’s been a little while since I joined the Three Things Challenge, but today’s words immediately made me think of music.

And suddenly, I had three songs playing in my head!

Growing up, Meat Loaf was one of my favourite artists. His powerful voice, theatrical performances and dramatic rock ballads were unforgettable.

Who could resist singing along to I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)?

Preferably at full volume, of course!

Then there’s Mellow Song by Blur.

A completely different atmosphere. Softer, more reflective, reminding me that music doesn’t always need to shake the walls to reach the heart.

And finally, Minefields by Faouzia and John Legend.

This beautiful duet is the most-streamed song on my Spotify. There’s something about those voices together, the emotion and the vulnerability, that keeps bringing me back.

Three words.

Three songs.

Three different musical worlds.

From the dramatic rock anthems of my younger years to quieter melodies and emotional duets, music has always accompanied me through life’s changing seasons.

Some songs make us dance.

Others make us remember.

And a few seem to understand feelings we haven’t quite found the words to express.

Perhaps that’s the magic of music. It doesn’t just become part of our memories. Sometimes, it becomes the soundtrack to who we are.
