September — Day 8

What are your plans for Labor Day?

First of all, Happy Labor Day to everyone who celebrates it! 🇺🇸

As for my plans?

Absolutely nothing special.

Here in the Canary Islands, we don’t celebrate the American Labor Day in September. In Spain — as in Norway and many other countries — International Workers’ Day is celebrated on 1 May instead.

So while some of my American blogging friends may be enjoying a long weekend, barbecues, gatherings or whatever else they have planned, over here it’s simply…

Tuesday. 🤣

No special plans. No Labor Day barbecue. No extra day off.

Just an ordinary day in the Canary Islands — although coffee will naturally be involved.

So enjoy your Labor Day, my American friends!

I’ll celebrate with you from afar by doing what I do best:

Drinking coffee and pretending that’s a special occasion.
