dVerse Poets Pub where Melissa is our hostess.
She gave us this prompt:
For today’s prompt, let’s have fun sans punctuation. You may capitalize lines, write in all lowercase, rhyme (or not), use enjambment or unique spacing, whatever other tools you use are completely up to you. Your poem must not be punctuated.
Unpunctuated
the shape of quiet
some mornings begin in fragments
coffee steam
cat paws
the soft remembering of another day
outside the wind
moves through dry places like it has forgotten
how to be gentle
still
the sun rises
still
flowers insist
still
some small hopeful thing
inside me
opens its tired hands
toward light
