Arena 51: Same Island, Different Planet 👽🛸

I might be a little biased, but my two new songs are rather good.

It all began with a typo.

I meant to write Area 51, but Arena Negra, our local music festival here on Fuerteventura, was clearly lurking somewhere in my brain. Out came Arena 51.

I laughed so much that I couldn’t bring myself to correct it.

Then I had a thought.

What if Arena 51 were a real place?

Not a secret military base, but a dance floor in the middle of a calima. Saharan dust in the coffee, temperatures soaring, humans overheating and aliens arriving to investigate the chaos.

I’ve never been particularly bashful about turning a ridiculous idea into something creative. And my DJ days certainly aren’t over. If anything, they’ve taken an intergalactic turn! 🔊

The first track became “Arena 51 – The Calima Conspiracy OriginalMixOriginal Mix.” But one version wasn’t enough. The aliens wanted their own dance floor, so along came “Arena 51 – The Calima Conspiracy AlienInvasionRemixAlien Invasion Remix.”

Both songs blend electronic beats, alien mischief and the very real experience of trying to survive a Fuerteventura heatwave without air conditioning.

And now both tracks are showing as Live on Ditto, with their release date set for 2 October 2026.

One cover has a dramatic desert sunset. The other has Bella behind the decks, looking entirely at home in her new role as intergalactic DJ. 🐶🎧

All because of one little typo.

So no, I’m not correcting Arena 51.

I’m turning up the volume.

Same island. Different planet. And the DJ is just getting started.
