September — Day 18
What is your horoscope sign? And is the description accurate?
For years, I thought I was a Capricorn. ♑
I was born on 22 December, so that was the sign I always saw listed for my birthday. But whenever I read the usual Capricorn descriptions, I couldn’t quite recognise myself in them.
Then I started astrology school, and things became a lot more interesting. ✨
I learned that the Sun doesn’t move into a new zodiac sign at midnight on a particular calendar date. The exact time of that change varies from year to year, which is why your birth date, time and place matter when you’re born close to the boundary between two signs.
As it turned out, I was born before the Sun had left Sagittarius.
My natal Sun is at 29°54′ Sagittarius — just six arcminutes from Capricorn! ♐
Suddenly, the Sagittarius descriptions made much more sense to me.
But studying astrology also taught me that a person is far more than their Sun sign. Your Moon sign can add another layer to how you understand your emotional world, while your rising sign describes another part of your astrological picture.
And that’s before you even begin looking at the rest of the birth chart. 😂
So, is my horoscope sign’s description accurate?
I relate much more to Sagittarius than I ever did to Capricorn. But I wouldn’t try to describe my whole personality using just one sign.
For me, learning my exact birth time was the beginning of discovering how much more there was to explore. 💜
My new song “Silenced, but not broken” is now avaliable on streaming platforms. 💜
