Three Things Challenge #MM531

Today’s three words:
ZIPLOCK•ZOOM•ZONE
Across the Distance 💜
Today, distance feels a little smaller.
I can zoom in on a screen and suddenly Wolverhampton doesn’t feel quite so far away.
At the bandstand in West Park, people are gathering to remember Liam on what would have been his 33rd birthday.
Flowers.
Photographs.
Letters.
Messages from people who couldn’t make the journey themselves.
Some carefully protected from the unpredictable English weather — tucked into sleeves, folders, perhaps even the humble ziplock bag — because when something carries someone’s heart, you protect it however you can.
More than 300 tributes have been sent through our True Justice group alone, and they will become part of the display at the bandstand for the next few weeks.
Three hundred voices saying:
You mattered.
You are remembered.
You are still loved.
Today there seems to be a little zone around that bandstand where geography doesn’t matter quite so much.
Some are standing there in Wolverhampton.
Others are watching through livestreams from countries hundreds or thousands of miles away.
But for a while, we’re all looking towards the same place.
And maybe that’s what love does.
It finds ways to cross the distance.
Happy heavenly birthday, Liam. 💜

The world may count the years.
Love counts the memories.
