Yesteryear
In yesteryear, an old kitchen table stood beside the window.
There was a yam among the vegetables waiting for supper, while voices yabbered softly around the room — ordinary conversations about ordinary things.
Outside, the world carried on.
Kings grew older.
Children became parents.
Photographs faded at the edges.
Years quietly slipped into history.
And perhaps that is what makes certain losses feel so profound.
Someone who seemed to have always been there suddenly belongs to yesteryear too.
Today, Norway lost King Harald.
And for a little while, the ordinary chatter seems quieter. 🇳🇴💜
