🌕✨ Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
28 August 2026
When the Waters Reveal What the Soul Has Been Holding
Tomorrow morning, 28 August, we experience the second eclipse of this powerful August eclipse season.
Only sixteen days after the Total Solar Eclipse in Leo, the skies bring us a Partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces.
And here in the Canary Islands, we will actually be able to watch much of it unfold. 💜
The penumbral eclipse begins around 02:23 WEST, with the visible partial phase beginning around 03:33.
The eclipse reaches its magnificent maximum at approximately:
🌕 05:12 WEST
By then, Earth’s shadow will cover most of the Moon.
The partial phase ends around 06:51, shortly before the Moon sinks toward the western horizon.
So yes…
I’ll apparently be having a very early morning with the Moon. 😂☕🌕
♓ Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
Astrologically, this eclipse falls at approximately 4° Pisces, opposite the Sun in Virgo.
And what a different energy this is from the Leo Solar Eclipse of 12 August.
Leo asked:
Who am I when I stop performing and begin living from my authentic heart?
Pisces now asks:
What am I finally ready to surrender?
Lunar eclipses are Full Moons intensified.
They illuminate.
They culminate.
They reveal what has been hidden beneath the surface.
And Pisces rules the very things that aren’t always easy to put into words:
intuition
dreams
spirituality
compassion
memories
grief
imagination
endings and surrender
Something that has been quietly moving beneath the emotional surface may now become impossible to ignore.
Virgo and Pisces
Control versus Surrender
Every Full Moon contains an opposition.
This one places the Sun in Virgo opposite the Moon in Pisces.
Virgo wants to understand.
To organise.
To analyse.
To repair.
To put everything into its correct little box.
Pisces looks at all those boxes and quietly pours water over them. 😂🌊
Pisces reminds us that not everything can be solved through logic.
Sometimes there isn’t another piece of evidence to examine.
Sometimes there isn’t another list to make.
Sometimes the soul simply says:
Enough. Let it go.
That doesn’t mean giving up.
Surrender and defeat are not the same thing.
Sometimes surrender means accepting that we cannot control every part of the journey while still remaining faithful to what matters.
☊ An Eclipse Between Two Stories
There’s another fascinating feature of this eclipse.
The Lunar Nodes have already moved into Aquarius and Leo, beginning the new eighteen-month evolutionary story we’ve been discussing.
Yet this eclipse occurs in Pisces, close to the territory of the previous Pisces–Virgo nodal cycle.
It feels almost like an epilogue.
One final page.
One final emotional release before we completely enter the next chapter.
Something from the previous eighteen months may return—not necessarily to begin again, but to be understood differently.
Perhaps closure doesn’t always mean receiving every answer.
Sometimes closure means realizing that the unanswered question no longer owns you.
When the Moon Turns Red
Astronomically, tomorrow’s eclipse happens because Earth moves between the Sun and Moon, allowing Earth’s shadow to fall across the lunar surface.
But symbolically…
there is something incredibly ancient about standing beneath an eclipsed Moon.
For thousands of years, humans have looked upward at these events with wonder.
Tomorrow morning, we’ll do exactly what countless generations before us have done.
We’ll look up.
We’ll watch Earth’s shadow slowly move across the Moon.
And perhaps we’ll remember how small we are beneath this enormous sky…
and yet how extraordinary it is that we are here to witness it.
💜 Eclipse Ritual
You don’t need anything elaborate.
Sit quietly beneath the Moon if you can.
Light a candle.
Play some music.
Write down something you’re ready to release.
A fear.
An expectation.
An old story.
A version of yourself you’ve outgrown.
Then simply say:
Thank you for what you taught me.
I no longer need to carry you forward.
Let Pisces take it from there.
The ocean knows how to carry things away.
Cosmic Whisper
Not every ending arrives with a slammed door.
Some endings arrive like water…
quietly washing away footprints from the shore.
Tomorrow’s eclipse reminds us that releasing something does not erase what happened.
It simply means we stop asking yesterday to become tomorrow.
Let the waters move.
Let the Moon reveal.
Let the old story loosen its grip.
Because somewhere beneath the shadow…
the next chapter has already begun. 🌕♓

The Sabian Symbols
🌕 Moon — 5° Pisces
“A Church Bazaar”
At first glance, it sounds wonderfully ordinary after our intoxicated chickens. 😂🐔
But its symbolism is lovely.
A church bazaar is a place where people bring what they have and offer it to others. Something sitting unused in one person’s home can become valuable to somebody else. People gather, exchange, contribute and support something larger than themselves.
Marc Edmund Jones associated this degree particularly with community, philanthropy and concern for collective wellbeing.
For a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, I would read this as:
giving rather than hoarding
allowing something old to find a new purpose
community and mutual support
compassion made practical
releasing what we no longer need
recognising that even painful experiences can eventually be transformed into something meaningful
There’s something beautifully Piscean about it:
What you release may become something that helps another person.
That could be possessions, certainly—but symbolically it can also be wisdom, experience, art, music, words, compassion or a story you’ve survived.
☀️ Sun — 5° Virgo
“A Man Dreaming of Fairies”
Now THIS one made me smile. 🤭✨
The opposing Sabian Symbol is wonderfully mystical for Virgo.
Virgo usually wants evidence.
Facts.
Details.
Something it can examine and understand.
And what does its Sabian Symbol give it?
Fairies. 😂🧚♀️
It represents imagination entering the practical world—the ability to perceive something subtle or invisible and then find a way to give it form. Jones connected the symbol with our imaginative resources and the possibility that dreams can become the beginnings of real achievement.
So we have:
Virgo: Give the invisible a form.
opposite
Pisces: Give what you have to the collective.
And suddenly the entire eclipse tells a story.
🌕✨ The Sabian Story of the Eclipse
The Virgo Sun dreams of something others cannot yet see.
The Pisces Moon carries that vision into a gathering and shares it.
One receives inspiration.
The other offers it to the world.
Dream → Create → Share.
And because this is an eclipse, perhaps there is another layer:
Something you’ve carried privately may have reached the point where it is no longer meant to remain only yours.
A story.
A song.
A spiritual insight.
A painful experience transformed into wisdom.
A truth.
Something invisible becomes visible—and through sharing it, it acquires an entirely different purpose.
There’s even an interpretation of these exact two symbols together that emphasizes giving form to the invisible and then passing that creation onward through goodwill and community.
Cosmic Whisper
Not everything we release is lost.
Some things are transformed.
The dream becomes the poem.
The wound becomes wisdom.
The memory becomes music.
The experience becomes something that helps another person.
And perhaps that is one of the quiet teachings of this Pisces eclipse:
What has finished its purpose in your life may only be beginning its purpose somewhere else. 🌕♓
