Today’s three words:
LANGUID • LOCK • LIMP
Some mornings I wake up feeling wonderfully languid.
That sounds elegant, doesn’t it?
Much better than:
“I don’t want to move and nobody speak to me until I’ve had coffee.” 😂☕
I eventually persuade myself to get out of bed, only to discover that one knee has decided to lock, my back has apparently aged twenty years overnight, and I’m walking toward the kitchen with a suspicious limp.
All I need now is dramatic music.
But then I reach the coffee machine.
The sacred button is pressed.
The aroma fills the kitchen.
First sip…
and slowly, civilisation returns. 😂
The limp becomes less dramatic.
The brain reconnects.
Conversation may now be attempted at your own risk.
Getting older is funny.
In our minds we’re still twenty-something, ready to conquer the world.
Our bodies occasionally send a memo:
“Absolutely not. Sit down.”
So today I shall embrace being languid.
I’ll unlock myself one joint at a time.
And if I limp…
I’ll simply tell everyone it’s a new dance move.
