Three Things Challenge #MM513

GATHER • GANTRY • GENTRY

For centuries, society has found ways to separate people.

The wealthy gentry lived behind grand gates, while everyone else carried on with ordinary life beyond them.

Titles mattered.

Status mattered.

Or at least, people were told they did.

But time has a wonderful way of changing perspective.

An old gantry that once represented industry, power, or progress may eventually stand silent against the sky — a reminder that even the strongest structures humans build don’t last forever.

What does last?

The moments when we gather.

Around a table.

Around a fire.

At a celebration.

Beside someone who needs us.

We gather to laugh, tell stories, remember, comfort, and love.

And around those tables, titles don’t matter very much.

Neither does wealth.

What matters is whether there is room for one more chair.

Perhaps that’s one of life’s simplest truths:

We can build monuments to power…

but the places where people gather with love are the places that truly become home.
