Share Your World : 10th August 2026

Here are this week’s questions & my answers

1 Have you ever won a major prize in a competition or raffle?

No, never.

Apparently Lady Luck keeps forgetting my address. 😂

2 Do you play the National Lottery?

No, I don’t.

Maybe that explains the answer to question one. 🤭😂

3 If you were to suddenly benefit from a financial windfall of £100,000 or $100,000, how would you use it?

First, I would buy a car.

Then I would put whatever was left towards buying a house.

Nothing particularly extravagant — I’d rather use the money for something that would make a real difference in everyday life.

4 Do you consider yourself to be in a better financial position than you were ten years ago?

Hehe…

No. Chronically broke. 😂

It was better 10 years ago with the exchange rates from NOK( Norwegian Kroner) to Euro.

(Both my husband and I get our disability pension from Norway.)

The prices has gone through the roof since the Covid pandemic.

Gratitude

Money may make life easier, but some of the most valuable things in life don’t have a price tag.

I’m grateful for my family, for a roof over our heads, for laughter when things get difficult, and for finding joy in the little things.

And should €100,000 unexpectedly fall from the sky…

I promise I won’t complain. 😂💜

I don’t really like the fact of becoming a millionaire. I’d have the ‘vultures’ after me!

Thanks for joining in and sharing your world Maggie.
Lovely gratitude. Money may help, but some things are priceless.
Hubby lost 65% of his disability allowance in 2019 when reassessed by a non medical clerk who ignored his mobility issues and being in constant pain. However, when I became eligible for my state pension in 2022, we were able to relax a bit as it didn’t replace anything and we were already used to counting the pennies.

They do it all the time, tick lists and no medical checks. We didn’t bother to contest it as I was recovering from my second strike of cancer, and it’s possible with the latest reviews and hoops to go through, he’ll lose the remaining pittance he gets at the next review. Everything is likely to be means tested and because we own our house, they consider us to be loaded. Sigh
