I have chosen this story ( Harmony) by Doug Jacquier
When I got to the afterlife, there were a lot of very unhappy people there, which was more than discomforting, given that I’d been led to believe an eternity of bliss awaited me.
No fluffy clouds, no harps, no pearly gates, no St. Peter with a long white beard and a humungous book detailing who’d been naughty and who’d been nice.
Alternative Ending
Alternative ending 1:
The complaints stopped the moment someone explained that heaven wasn’t a reward but a place where every soul finally had to face the truth about itself. Those who embraced that truth smiled, while the unhappy ones discovered that eternity wasn’t punishment—it was simply the time needed to learn harmony.
Alternative ending : 2
I was about to ask why everyone looked so miserable when a voice behind me whispered, “Don’t worry… this is only the waiting room.” Then the door marked Earth slowly opened again.
