Reena’s Xploration Challenge #439
The House Above the Noise
People often wondered why she chose to live on a lonely rock, so high above the world.
They imagined she was hiding.
She smiled at the thought.
She wasn’t escaping life.
She was listening to it.
Up there, the wind carried no gossip. The clouds arrived without judgement. The old apple tree had witnessed more seasons than any history book, reminding her that roots could thrive even where others saw only stone.
Visitors asked, “Don’t you ever feel alone?”
She would look across the endless horizon and answer,
“No.
Down there, people are surrounded by voices and still feel lonely.
Up here, I am surrounded by silence…
and I have never felt more at home.”
Every sunrise painted her little house with gold.
Every sunset reminded her that even the highest places still belonged to the Earth.
Perhaps home was never about where the house stood.
Perhaps it was about finding the one place where your soul could finally exhale.
