The Page I Didn’t Delete
The phone rang again.
I let it ring.
Once, I would have answered every call, afraid of disappointing someone, afraid of another reprimand for choosing myself.
Not anymore.
I opened my old diary instead.
Between faded pages I found the woman I used to be—a maiden who believed everyone deserved another chance, even those who had been vindictive.
She loved deeply.
She forgave endlessly.
She grew tired of confusing forgiveness with permission.
That was the moment everything changed.
There comes a level in life where healing means saying no without guilt, walking away without explanation, and refusing to let nobody convince you that your worth depends on their approval.
Some memories deserve to stay.
Others deserve one simple action:
Delete.
Not because they never mattered, but because they no longer deserve space in your heart.
And now, when the phone rings, I smile.
The loudest answer I can give is the peaceful life I chose to live.
With love, coffee, poetry, and stardust,
